For young drivers, the first few years on the road are the most dangerous. When buying their first car, their top priority is almost always price, not safety. To make matters worse, finding reliable safety info for older used cars is notoriously difficult.
The data is usually unavailable or out of date, largely because many buyers don't realise that ANCAP safety ratings generally carry only a six-year validity period. We needed a way to put safety at the forefront of a young buyer’s mind by providing data that is both up-to-date
and relevant.
Safe Cars is a simple, intuitive digital tool that helps young drivers find the safest possible car within their budget. It leverages a live data pipeline across ANCAP, UCSR, NEVDIS, FCAI, and Redbook. The UX strategy deliberately minimises cognitive load by algorithmically filtering and surfacing the safest vehicles at the top of the results page. Complete with precise model and variant specifications, the platform allows users to instantly capture these critical safety insights and deploy them directly into their online vehicle searches.
